So the night stars bowed down before the chosen girl, the moon's light flickered as the clouds danced about the sky. The music of the night became more audible as the frogs, big and small, sang along with the crickets and grasshoppers.
"But I am not worthy of such trust, I am mealy the descendant of a Panda clan." she said.
But her words went unheard, the euphoria was over-powering. Moments after Panda’s arrival he came, fierce and standing tall, he was the king of all beast, the lion! He was here to put an end to the evil humanity had caused, and relieve the beast from the pain they suffered. Panda, as the chosen girl was known, had no words to say and remained silent as this great beast stood before her.
"So you are the chosen one Have you prepared to prove yourself?" he growled.
And with a swift sniff into the night’s hot air, he walked away. Astonished still, Panda followed, tripping every couple of steps. The intensity of the situation was hard to fathom at first, but it was becoming clearer in her ignorant and innocent mind. She had been called by Mother Nature; Gaia herself, and there was no turning back now. As she entered the untamed jungle, her heartbeats increased straight away, until all she felt was chaos within her chest. With no possible way of controlling her fretful body, she tried to keep close to the vicious beast that guided her way. Although it was quiet evident she was very much terrified of the creature before her, and avoided getting to close.
As dark as the night was the lion saw with ease, unlike the poor child behind him that barely saw her own hands before her face. The lion would look at her every now and then, using his very eyes as a beckon; allowing her to follow through the dark and humid grounds. It looked so mystical the way the faint light of the moon reflected on the lion’s eyes, causing Panda a mesmerizing effect. But as quickly as he looked, he would also look away. They continued to walk, neither slowing down nor hurrying to their destination, but at the same pace they had began with. This assured them a good pace that would avoid unnecessary stamina loss.
As the nighttime continued, ever expanding to those hours many consider dangerous for reasons other than criminally-wise, she began to hear faint whispers, whose words she could not comprehend.
"Do you hear them?" He said in a deep voice. She fidgeted at the sound of his deep growling voice, but remained close behind.
"Y-yes." she said in a low whisper as if afraid she would awaken the hideous creatures that ruled this domain untouched by humans.
"They are calling out to you. An ordinary human would have been killed by the mere voice of these creatures." He said as he continued on his tracks.
"W-What are they?" she asked in fear, and yet curiosity clear in her voice.
"The spirit of the fallen; those who continue to exist in the darkest of forms. They are awaiting redemption." he said ignoring her quick loud guzzle.
"Evil spirits” she said in a matter of fact way.
"You seem to not understand." he growled quickly turning to her, causing her to fall on the muddy ground.
"I- I'm sorry, you said redemption!" she quickly said covering her face with her frail arms.
"Redemption! Of course, redemption. It’s the wish to be freed from this pathetic existence. They no longer have what belongs to them." he stopped his response short and abruptly continued on his way. He knew this concept was too complex for a human to understand. Before humans ruled this Earth, animals were here first… Of course these animals the lion knew so well were nothing alike any we knew. There was an order and laws that surpassed this physical world, that ‘this’ animals had contact with, without the necessity of crossing the borders of death.
Panda, still afraid decided to continue on, because it was a sure bet death would come if she parted from him. Her soft treed was audible for all the creatures of the night, even those who were minding their own business, were quickly aware of the presence of a human in their land. It had appeared the night grew longer, since it seemed the moon and stars had frozen in place. Panda, took quick and short breaths in attempt to relax her strained body. After all, most of her muscles had been contracted throughout most of the way, and spasms were starting to give signs of this. Yet, the lion seemed relax, as if a nightly walk through the park; a scary, humid, hot park.
Creatures from what see to be a limitless jungle came out and followed the two, like a sort of exotic carnival. Panda would look back every now and then, to see what new creatures had decided to join the march...
